I am also a hospital pharmacist who deals with ICU sedation and I agree with everything kgro says. Propofol is limited to certain floors of a hospital due to the intense monitoring required to administer it safely and properly. The idea that he was doing this in a home setting is laughable. Even if it was the only thing that helped MJ (and I don't believe that is true but for arguments sake,) this physician displayed a level of incompetence I cannot begin to comprehend by leaving the medications where they were accessible to a patient.
