95年12月初，《HIStory》专辑中的“This Time Around”同“Earth Song”在美国地区被发放到电台做前期宣传，最后以失败告终。而“Earth Song”在MTV台成为当时点播率最高的音乐录影，但并没有让这支附带在该碟里的歌曲获得良好的点播。“This Time Around”在传送过程中，拥有了很多种混音版，但人们没能真的听到它们或买到它们。只有David Morales混音版最终出现在了《Blood On The Dance Floor》专辑上。
该曲被普遍认为是索尼音乐公司对Michael Jackson的最坏市场运营。在圣诞节档期里没有安排任何恰当的单曲来发售，“You Are Not Alone”和“They Don't Care About Us”之间的发行间隔太大，《HIStory》的销量只能不断下滑。在37周内卖出350万套专辑后，《HIStory》跌出了榜单，从此再也没有回来。而在世界的其他地方，则是完全不同的景象。
花絮：
大量的“This Time Around”的前期宣传用CD以及12英寸vinyl版本的单曲如今成为Michael Jackson迷中收藏者的珍品。尤其是有9支曲目的12英寸vinyl版本的单曲(Epic EAS 7603/4)尤为值钱，每张大概值100英镑。
