这支单曲并没发行。
《HIStory》专辑的“Smile”本计划于1997年底作为“HIStory/Blood on the Dance Floor”项目的最后一支单曲在全球（除美国外）发行。甚至这支单曲的电台宣传CD都已制作完成，并收录了一些优秀的混音作品，如“Is It Scary” 。
Michael也本打算在德国的“Wettan Das”节目上表演这支歌曲，并有可能为它拍摄一部录影。但由于尚不明了的原因，这一切都没有发生，这支单曲的发行计划也取消了。至此，“HIStory”的宣传周期结束。
